Where There's Wine, There's A Way - Featuring Alberto Conti Toscana Rosso
After the long weekend it's time to relax with your favorite glass of wine. This week, we bring you a Sangiovese & Merlot blend from Tuscany Italy, Alberto Conti Toscana Rosso. This blend has hints of cherries mixed with a dash of raspberry. With a bold, velvety finish - this is the perfect palate to pair with an autumn meal of Lamb or a light Panzanella Salad.
Region: Tuscany, Italy
Varietal: Sangiovese & Merlot Blend
Wine-making: The fermentation of the grapes takes place in stainless steel tanks at a constant temperature of 73-75° F. The skins are a fundamental element of this process because they are responsible for the wine's color and texture. Therefore, at the conclusion of fermentation itself, the new wine has some time to rest on them for 2-3 days before the malolactic fermentation. The Toscana Rosso is aged partly in French oak barrels for 6 months. Tasting Notes: This Super Tuscan is a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot. Its color is a deep red with violet hints. The aromatic bouquet shows violets and cherries mixed with a dash of raspberry. Rounded by barrel ageing, it boasts a velvety mid-palate and a bold finish.
